Given that it's 50 years since scheduled HST services began, here's one of the last shots I took of one in service with LNER, just over seven years ago, during that year's diversions on the Tyne Valley Line...
Glad I'm indoors today, writing. The weather in the North East this morning is a stark contrast to last weekend. Here 43320 is pictured at the rear of a diverted @LNER Aberdeen-KX service on the afternoon of Saturday 21 September heading through Haydon Bridge. ©️ Graeme Pickering

#OnThisDay 60 years ago Cornwall & Devon's railways had a dark day when lines from Meldon to Bude, and to Padstow via Launceston closed, centred on Halwill (Junction); once the convergence of three routes. To add insult to injury, that station is now buried under 'Beeching Close'

Took a gamble on a cheap secondhand SIgma lens for my Nikon D5500 camera. Lens seems outwardly fine. Works ok in manual mode but won't autofocus. Is a firmware upgrade needed or is it a more simple solution. Online advice suggests it's firmware. Any advice appreicated. Thank you
