Clichés are overused nuggets of wisdom we tend to ignore. Unfortunately, it often takes going through the experience to realize that clichés are overused for a reason.

@maksimologija @parxxtrades I'm being genuine. I understand what you're saying. What I don't understand is how is what you're saying different than what Fr. Stephen is saying? He's also saying that Scriptures are not the Word of God in the sense that they are not God Himself. Seems like it's the same.

@PrimeVideo I paid to have ads removed for @paramountplus in order to watch @survivorcbs with my family. I sit down to watch an episode with my kids only to have a drag ad come up. Lord, have mercy! Come on.

@parxxtrades @maksimologija I must be missing something, because I don't understand @maksimologija objection to what Fr. Stephen is saying. I need someone to clearly lay out what Father is saying and then show why the Orthodox stance is different.

@maksimologija Are you saying that the Scriptures are: (A) the Word of God (the Logos and 2nd person of the Trinity) (B) that the Sciptures are the the literal word of God (as in letters and not Word as in logos)

Honest Question: What makes the persons who wrote the Bible infallible (i.e., Paul, Peter, Matthew, Moses, etc.)? Why are they infallible and not, let’s say, Polycarp who was a disciple to the evangelist John? More importantly, what determines infallibility?

I never thought I'd be getting attacked for saying I follow the Bible alone.. and by other Christians at that

Help me answer this question: What is the Gospel? I’ve been invited to speak online this evening at 8:30 pm EST on this specific topic. How would you answer this question?

Orthodoxy offers a therapeutic regiment, the source of which is Christ himself.

@johncdirks @gavinortlund Both/and. Christ defined the boundaries. This is why we say to the Orthodox, there is no salvation outside the Church. To step outside the Church is to be step outside of Christ. However, for those not in the Church, we do not make a judgement calls, for Christ is the judge.

@AL_J82 For the first three, you’re absolutely right. In Orthodoxy, God deserves the best.

@pearlythingz Not to mention, your choice of date is not without coincidence. It’s wasn’t just “another” Sunday for us, yesterday was Pentecost. Whether on public property or not, you’re instigating people on a holy day. You could have chosen any other service to come.

@pearlythingz On Sundays, Clergy have more important, and frankly holier, matters to attend to than your attention seeking antics. If you were genuinely curious for a response, you would schedule a time to meet. I don’t doubt people would be willing to be recorded with the proper notice.
