Here are my Ss connecting the relationship between the distance formula and the Pythagorean theorem. #NISDIgnited

Every year, I share a fun fact with my students: the team at @Vans are secret #mathwizards! I tell a fictional story that their famous logo wasn’t just a fun design choice—it was intentional to remind math lovers everywhere not to forget the final step when solving a^2+b^2=c^2

Yesterday my students created intersecting planes and skew lines to match one of their assessment questions. These models are easy to refer back to when they need help visualizing points, lines, and planes in space. #NISDIgnited #mathclassroom

I had a blast making memories at @CAMT_TX with @GwendolynBoudr7 and Hope! Being surrounded by other teachers who value student engagement and deeper learning fills my cup. 🧡 #CAMT26

I got the wrong answer but I didn’t even care because I had so much fun and got SUPER close to the ‘correct answer’. Thank you for that engaging task @robertkaplinsky #CAMT26 #openmiddlemath

We took an @openmiddle question, made a tweak, and my student took it beyond what I had considered possible. I LOVE the thinking Ss can do with open middle questions. These types of questions help high achieving students grow. #openmiddlemath #NISDUnstoppable

Constructions with a compass and straightedge are usually a hit with Ss. 💙 This exposes them to congruent parts & naming parts of congruent triangles to help them in the future with two column proofs.

What allows a shape to tesselate? What is a tessellation? Do all tessellations come for a translation? What other ways can you build a tessellation? Ss really enjoyed this activity.

Ss are applying their knowledge of the Pythagorean theorem to solve questions that requires a lot of thinking. Their conversations sound like music to my teacher ears.

When it comes to transformations on the coordinate plane, having patty paper for Ss to visualize rotations, reflections, and translations is a huge help! 💚

I love when my students get to see how their peers approach the same problem. It was a great Monday! #NorthsideUnstoppable

My geometry students are having fun creating models of intersecting planes. They thought it was cool that two lines will never intersect and yet they would not be considered parallel. #NorthsideUnstoppable #MSGeometryClass #PointsLinesandPlanes

Here my Ss worked on "Scary Reunion" a task that requires them to use the Pythagorean theorem, calculate speed, and make predictions. They did great! 🦈🦈
