Marketing must become disruptively human and understand the full range of rational and emotional variables as the customer sees and describes them. Marketing must take the lead in forging a long-term strategy based on that understanding, and then use the magic of MarTech.
Martech Product Managers need to:
1 Set a martech vision
2 Understand user pain points through user research and discovery
3 Create and manage a martech product roadmap
4 Ensure user adoption
5 Manage stakeholder expectations through consistent comm (being agile)
People don't buy marketing. They buy the product. And so marketing has to be part of what that product is. When you have functional silos, it is very easy to think narrowly things like "I just need to do email marketing. I need to do marketing on social channels."
