Just wrapped up Project Phoenix with a very successful launch at FAR! We had ignition in both stages and reached a maximum altitude of 32k. Despite a parachute failure in the booster, both stages were recovered fully intact, besides one broken fin. Now onto Project Medusa!

An amazing day in the Mojave Desert with this incredibly smart and talented group of students from MIT. Their engineering was exceptional, although they had an anomaly 7 seconds into flight — proving again that rockets are difficult. Great spirit @MITRocketTeam
Update! The launch happened at approximately 10:30 AM. An anomaly occured at approximately 7 seconds into flight. We have team members in the field searching for the nose come and parachutes. We did find a rocket that isn't ours already.
Rocket is integrated for flight. T-0 is at 10:02 AM. Updates as we have them.
Evening tag-up complete. We're working avionics issues and testing payload systems. Tommorow it's integration and build.

It's launch week! We're starting launch integration early for an expected Saturday launch.
We just presented to the @MITAeroAstro faculty today on our path to space!
Our special operations team just tested a second stage ignition system! This component is integrated with the forward closure of the motor and is controlled by our flight computer. Operational, mechanical and software safeties will be used to inhibit premature ignition.
