@suburbancontra1 @cwebbonline So since their parents put them at risk, they should be put in situations that are dangerous and America shouldn’t protect the child?

If feeding a hungry child accidentally benefits an "undeserving" child, I am prepared to live with this devastating outcome.

@RossKneeDeep Because the officials elected to represent their constituents have abdicated their responsibility. Time to clean house.

@George2023K9 @fire_starter457 @charlesn898 It’s been that way for years. Had a troublesome teen (who evolved into a spectacular adult I might add). If you spent any time in the juvenile halls, it was clear that if you could afford an attorney, your child would benefit. But those who couldn’t were shuffled into the system.

Bill Burr: “How big does your yacht have to be? I have no problem with people having zillions of dollars, but pay the workers, give them benefits. Most people don’t have ridiculous demands. It’s like I would like to have a family, be able to clothe, shelter, and feed them and not have to worry every month that I’m gonna be homeless. The more of a reptile you are, the more ruthless you are, it’s respected in business. They hide behind well that’s how business is done. No, it isn’t. That’s how you’re doing business”

An electrician with 22 years of trade experience brought his entire enclosed work trailer into a local pawn shop this morning. He had $18,000 worth of commercial-grade Milwaukee and DeWalt equipment loaded up. He lost his sub-contracting business last month after three general contractors defaulted on payments and walked away without paying his open invoices. The shop owner offered him $3,200 total for the whole trailer. He stood in the parking lot and said: "If a blue-collar guy misses three invoice payments, his business collapses, his credit is destroyed, and he sells his tools for 15 cents on the dollar." Meanwhile, the commercial real estate firm that built the empty office building down the street defaulted on $45 million in debt. Their punishment? The lender modified the loan, froze interest payments, and gave them $2 million in emergency operating capital to 'restructure.' Small-scale labor gets liquidated instantly. Corporate debt gets shielded forever.

This is the future they want for your kids - seated glued to a screen. There’s no peer involvement. I doubt there’s any interactive learning. Certainly AI is not going away and people should know how to use it and what the pitfalls are.

Why do Americans pay so much for healthcare, childcare, web service, college, and other 21st Century needs? Because the GOP made a conscious decision 45 years ago to gut the social contract. It’s no coincidence that Harry Truman called the GOP The Guardians Of Privilege.

@unusual_whales So – Don’t most colleges wait for you to declare a major until you after you’ve already been in school for a year or so? So students can get a loan for their freshman year but will be forced on a path of approved degrees if they want to be able to complete.
