@ChrisExpTheNews Rey faces a legend. Luke sacrificed much to tranquil the Force, weakening Snoke. Now Snoke projects towards dark powers. Poe struggles as a beacon to a shattered Republic. The sabre offers impossible visions: Luke's lost twins, Rey's heritage, the last Jedi. How do they connect?
Wild this got as far as it did, equal pay for unequal work is bad on the face of it.
@PaulTassi So the JL being clones makes this scene any better? Either the baddies can fake a ring with the same powers, or now a clone can use the real ring as well?
@OLKv6 @RiceBastard @MrAbbeetim I can see why people would find that preferable, as at least memories are retained. However depending on how it's written that might mean both effectively 'die' and a new third conciousness takes their place (Tuvix style if you know the reference).
@RiceBastard @MrAbbeetim I've seen it in a number of pieces of fiction, I've just not seen people refer to it as a 'perfect ending' before! In fact sometimes its a deliberate piece of existential horror.
@Jonathan_Blow I thought this was just me! Insanity, its been like this for months now!
The corporate advisory boards that I have been a part of have almost exclusively been “vibe checks”, where presentations are made about work the company is doing, and the advisory panel chats about things for a while. This seems like a poor way to utilize the advisors. Maybe it is worth it just for a rare outburst of “What? No! Are you insane?” But if the company executives don’t actually do something differently than what they were already planning, then the advisory board was actually wasted. The right time to use advisors is when there is an open and contentious question, and you want an opinion from an unbiased expert. You probably don’t want to convene a “board of advisors”, but rather draw from a “pool of advisors” according to their skillsets.
@thdxr I did a less extreme version of this: I take the evening shift, my partner sleeps from 8PM, then takes over from 2AM. We both get 6 hours of uninterrupted sleep, usually more. We have kept this up with 3 children, while in full time work. Just move the kid to its own room early!
@ptrschmdtnlsn @Jonathan_Blow I have the same headphones and never had these problems. I lost them got some 5 series ones and after finding the 4's again, went back to them. They are peak Sony. I would suggest getting your pair replaced if under warranty or mess about with them in the sound connect app.

@DenisJeliazkov @BillyWhelk @Apple The survivor bias of Apple critique lol
@xruiztru Very cool. Where did this come from? Is there an interactive timeline version or the source data somewhere?
The Sentencing Council is entirely independent. Today's updated guidelines do not represent my views or the views of this government. I will be writing to the Sentencing Council to register my displeasure and to recommend reversing this change to guidance. As someone who is from an ethnic minority background myself, I do not stand for any differential treatment before the law, for anyone of any kind. There will never be a two-tier sentencing approach under my watch.
@EarforcePx12 @nemxfoenirevlow @irose_R2 Because Disney endlessly tinker based on feedback and perceptions of what people will like. The above scene was apparently moved to address negative test screenings of Odin dying in some alley. So you film defensively knowing some of it will be reworked from what you planned.
@nemxfoenirevlow @irose_R2 They can't dramatically light a scene because they don't know what final background will be. So, Hela can be in a dingy NYC alley in the Thor Ragnarok teaser trailer, but on a cliffside in Norway in the final film using the same flat neutral footage:
@valentinavee Nah it's because they don't know what the scene lighting will need to be, so they keep it fairly neutral. So, Hela can be in a dingy NYC Alley in the Thor Ragnarok teaser trailer and on a cliffside in Norway in the final film using the same footage:
@ShivAroor The underlying model has the correct information and runs on consumer hardware. Just avoid the app.
The numbers are in: In 2024, @TheOceanCleanup removed 11,740,000 kg of trash—a 78% year-over-year increase. A big thank-you to everyone who helped make this happen! Now, let’s double this in 2025!
