@SamRobertsWX I've never understood it, either. It could be about to hammer us with snow, and I know that I'm going to drive to Sheetz for food in the middle of it.

Good worst idea, or the best worst idea?

@Mike_M_Klotz 3 Times, over a set period of time, and all failures have to happen after attempts at repair. If the dealership stonewalls you and refuses to fix anything on time number 1 or 2, you don't get to 3. They know what they're doing.

@CloudEscolar @Mike_M_Klotz Limited and Overland came with the air suspension. I'm not sure you can even get an overland without it. Just spent 2 grand and busted up knuckles replacing mine with regular springs and shocks

@Mike_M_Klotz Extremely conservative Japanese brand. Going with the sure money for them is better than gambling

@CloudEscolar @Mike_M_Klotz I mean, you have the choice between buying a new 3.6 Pentastar engine at 45k miles, or replacing a Mercedes designed QuadraLift II air suspension. Either way, that's $5k extra to be baked into the price, no matter what model you get with a WK2

@CloudEscolar @Mike_M_Klotz Worst choice ever. Possibly better than a Tiguan, but way way worse than a WK1 or even a WJ.

@Mike_M_Klotz As for the cheap option, that's the right way to go. Kid drivers are going to hit stuff, run over stuff, and never maintain their vehicles. For the price of a Tiguan, you can just buy 6 WK1s, and swap new ones in as the old ones get crashed or explode.

That's a mistake. The 3.7 is very, very anemic. When put through the Mercedes transmission with stock differentials, it runs at about 3500RPM or more at highway speeds. At 70, the engine drone is deafening. I think this also lends itself to the motor popping like a zit anywhere over about 190k miles. The Powertech 3.7 and 4.7 engines leak like a seive and have cam keeper and chain tensioner issues, and suffer from weak oil pumps as well. The 5.7 has enough power to avoid those issues, but in the JGC, it's geared for power and not necessarily speed. In the WK1, the 5.7 wasn't the performance monster Hemi. That would have been the 6.4 SRT.

@iCyclone I've noticed that the Internet is now in a hard backlash against anyone who isn't schlepping away at some grindingly miserable normal job that you hate. If you're getting paid to do something that normies don't view as a "real job", you're a garbagehuman and not a real person.

Doing some residual upfit work at the HQ today! Truck 3 is getting an amplified speaker for the new scanner, and cargo hatch flood lights. Truck 2 is due in for extensive front end work, front flood light bar, and cargo hatch floods. Lots of work happening before maintenance slows for the cold season. Additionally, if anyone needs an excellent CB radio with the best NOAA alert on the market, I have 2 Cobra 75 All Road units for sale that include the radio, HHCH, and power cord - $100 each.
