Thursday saw the Selby team at North Yorkshire Horizons celebrating 10 years of delivering support for drug and alcohol use to the local community and surrounding area! Dozens of visitors came along to join in the fun alongside staff, volunteers and people that use the service.
Great to see Ruth from @Humankind_UK talking this and representing our Life Experience Council #working together is a big part of our future plans
Kick off Day 1 #Lab24 with @JamesTCobbler @ItsGroundswell @Humankind_UK @RevDoors on the Right to Participation in public policy. Involve people affected by an issue in creating policy solutions and services to get better outcomes. @AmnestyUK delighted to support the session.
Its important to make sure people know we take a stand against the behaviours of rioters in the communities we work in and love and are there for the people who need our support.

When I joined the sector I was told “people who use drugs can’t access mental health support, and people with mental health needs can’t access support around drug use”. Sadly, DCB report cited it’s still true in many areas. This is an opportunity to own this issue. So exciting!

We've looked in the mirror and decided to change ourselves quite radically. Next year we'll merge with @rfmentalhealth to create a unified drug/alcohol, mental health & housing offer to support people facing #multipledisadvantage. It's a big task but we are super excited!

Since late 1990s charities have been consistently funded less than we need - to deliver services. Since 2012 no costs to cover increased salaries. We are often best placed to deliver essential services society needs but treated like a poor relation - please sign up as well
