A mathematical framework for a currency anchored to entropy resistance, coherent from the first hour of human labor to the last task before full automation.hoursframework.orgJoined May 2026
If you're asking about the Multiplier: it's the current model of how much new currency an hour of registered human work mints on the ledger. The base is 1 TEH per hour, and each occupation gets a reference multiplier based on the training, demand, scarcity, and impact behind that hour.
The Framework itself is an open-source accounting system that works together with AI and automation, so people benefit as machines take on more of the work instead of being left behind by it
Thank you to everyone that has reached out, will be posting more updates soon on the progress.
In the mean time, we are starting to publish some highly requested tools to help you explore. So...

@capTercio A 480% increase is well past the tipping point.
When voice fails to alter a decision that threatens the town's basic viability, loyalty could no longer justify staying, and exit becomes the only remaining form of influence.
Exit, Voice and Loyalty - Hirschman
The "what if" framing only works if you treat the surviving records as neutral, and it isn't.
Consider that last week was the anniversary of the 1631 sack of Baltimore in West Cork, a reminder that Ireland's coast was also on the receiving end of organized slave raiding.
Documented blame tends to flow toward whoever kept archives, meaning the literate, bureaucratic states, while the less-documented side leaves fewer traces in either direction.
The villains in a story are often just the people whose paperwork survived.
This is a good point. To add one thing, a lot of Mexico is paid by the Day, not hourly, which is why its limited in the first place. Hence keeping the 6 days (no pay cut to start) The question I'd like to know is will we see a 20% pay drop or just smaller rises over that time? Jan 1st is going to be interesting in 2027.
wow great read. exodus seems like a digital version of commitment pooling.
pooling is an interesting take on handling group decision making. This is a good direction I' like to explore more when it comes to a full implementation of the HOURS framework (EOH/TEH).
We started from the first principles to be automation aware, that AI and machines will do most of the work.
I'd be very interested to hear your take on how automation affects the reciprocity of commitment pooling?
You may find the entropy obligations and the verified labor parts of the framework interesting. based on Mweria, EOH could be shared across multiple communities, and TEH as a request token can be used among different communities to request future commitments.
I acknowledge we are looking from different sides of the same core problems, but I find both very complementary to completing one another.
Diving deep into this would be a great article on its own.
Many stories center around "an army of one" over coming the odds. however even the Robinsons were a collective of 5.
Currently in the Hours Framework selfcare and sole benefit count as Zero events, the production and consumption happen with the same persons efforts there is no need to create a currency to pay yourself to then spend it on your own labor. That's an added burden.
Although I understand that's not what you mean. you are looking from the view point of a world of scarcity. There is no open fields you can harvest to feed yourself no forest unclaimed to forage from, build systems of support from. Every square inch is claimed, controlled, or sat on as a speculation. Your born onto a gameboard you have no say in. you learn the rules and start playing the game. Side hustle, minor day job afford you some resources, but like a calorie deficient person its not enough and slowly your creative energy, your passion, which could be used to inspire and improve the world fade.
This is where the foundation of the framework starts, freeing humans from entropy so they can live. what passions give meaning to life when the daily grind is handled. does the work itself become meaningful? more question than answers. give humans time to seek them.
Circling back toward something more practical. There's little new advice to add to conversations already talking about how to get ahead.
Build your own collective at the friends/family level pool resources to reduce costs (entropy demand) and build collect infrastructure. Space is the hardest and requires playing someone else's game even to just pay taxes. not legal advice but a 501(c)(12) entity or a LEHC providing housing, occupied by 85% of its members, that gives about 10% to be safe of outside money towards building costs. complexes with 20-50 units are not unreasonable compared to single family homes, and the foot print of building to lot size requirements means there should be space for small gardens.
This is getting long so I'll end with governance will also become the a main friction point, whether its for a group of people or only yourself. Be any action, standard 9-5, however slow, can build up a few hours of passion work each week. small steps until you can leap.
Progress is never as fast as we hope. In this case the concept is polished and code and tools are opensource and in development.
Real world measurements are costly, the data is in the final stages of cleaning which should give a good baseline for any entropy calculations.
check wiki.hoursframework.org when it starts getting published.
Anyone could start today, however in this article (x.com/HoursFramework…) we push for a larger collective that is willing to crunch the numbers to start on a broader level, this would be the employer of last resort that holds the ledger. Too much to go into depth in a reply.
On a smaller scale we are working with a few companies to adjust structures for growth under variable work hours (a key feature needed for a hours reserve). can read about it here hoursframework.org/how-it-works/l…
Which we project will work well under current fiat systems and even better under a HOURS system.
By the end of next year we will have data that others can compare against in their own implementations. Small steps.

@mattyglesias Funny how fast a wealth tax moves.
Anything guaranteeing jobs or housing for workers gets left on the floor.
It's fitting that they're debating a second home when so many don't even have a first.
There are other systems that exist. A large company and a large network can provide the same service to society. a large company may "choose to" reduce cost to consumers as they scale, will often lack the flexibility to pivot from a path once set. Networks like the ones powering the fast fashion industry can pivot b/c they are a distribution of smaller ones, still providing goods/services. This is different from a "brand" which is the consumer channel that most people purchase items from.
Yes, Unfortunately not in a good way with increase vacations.
This is why we started the Hours Framework, to address this question in a real way.
