The Supreme Court’s decision to block last-minute restrictions on mail-in voting means millions of voters can continue to use mail ballots in the 2026 midterm elections. Mail-in voting is an important tool for Latino voters and communities who may face barriers to accessing polling locations. Protecting access to the ballot is essential to ensure every eligible voter can participate in our democracy. On this National Voter Registration Day, Hispanic Federation remains committed as ever to fight for voting rights and make sure that our communities have the information and resources they need to participate in our democracy. Read our full statement here: hispanicfederation.org/news/on-the-ev…
Latino leaders from across the country convened today with House Democratic Leader @hakeemjeffries and @HispanicCaucus Chairman @RepEspaillat to address urgent threats facing our communities, nonprofits, and voting rights. Hispanic Federation President & CEO Frankie Miranda highlighted the growing challenges facing Latino-serving nonprofits, as organizations across HF’s network work to fill critical gaps in services. While people continue to struggle because of the significant cuts to federal programs and the ongoing cost of living crisis, leaders in today’s meeting highlighted the ways that Congress can step up to support communities in need. We must continue standing together and advocating for the communities we serve.
Today marks the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month – and this year, it is the same day as #NationalVoterRegistrationDay. We can’t let that coincidence pass us by. At a time when our voices matter more than ever, let’s celebrate our culture by exercising our power at the ballot box. Voting matters, and our participation helps shape the policies that impact our communities. Join Hispanic Federation in taking action: check your voter registration, create a plan to vote, and encourage your loved ones to do the same. And tell us in the comments: What does #HispanicHeritageMonth mean to you? Register to vote here: hispanicfederation.org/vota/ #HHM
Last week #HFEncuentroDigital brought our partners together in San José for powerful conversations about leadership, digital equity, AI, democracy, economic opportunity, and the role of partnerships in meeting the evolving needs of our communities. Across two days of conversation and learning, one theme remained clear: closing the Latino Digital Divide requires collaboration, investment, and ensuring Latino communities have the knowledge, access, and voice to shape the future of technology. Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed their expertise, ideas, and vision throughout #HFEncuentroDigital. A special thank you to the HF staff whose dedication and hard work made this possible. As we reflect on Encuentro Digital, the work continues. Let’s keep expanding digital opportunities and closing the Latino Digital Divide.
This week, President Trump called for his voters to ‘cheat like hell’ in the upcoming midterms. Such a message has made it clear that the stated campaign to advance election integrity is a farce, and the real goal is to restrict voting rights for specific people. Frankie Miranda, President and CEO of Hispanic Federation points out how this duplicity of messaging creates a hostile election environment that diminishes trust in a Democracy. Hispanic Federation will continue to make sure that people have the information they need to exercise their right to vote in the upcoming election. Read our full statement in the graphic. Twenty-five years later, we still carry September 11th with us – the grief, the courage, and the unity that brought our city and country together. In the weeks and years that followed, people from all walks of life stepped up – comforting grieving neighbors, and aiding survivors facing unexpected illnesses. We are grateful to those community members, and to the partners who worked alongside us to keep essential medical treatment within reach for survivors and first responders who needed it most. Hispanic Federation honors every life lost and every hero who ran toward danger to save others. Hoy, y siempre, los recordamos.

The Census is essential. It shapes funding for community services, guides business decisions, and helps government work effectively and better serve the people. But it only works if it does what the constitution requires: counting every single person who lives here. If millions of immigrants are excluded from the count, and if officials are blocked from collecting basic data on race, ethnicity, and gender; every community will feel the debilitating impacts. Not just today, but for decades to come. Hispanic Federation will continue to fight to make sure everyone is counted in the 2030 Census, so no community is hidden, overlooked, or ignored.
Yesterday marked the first day of Hispanic Federation’s Encuentro Digital, bringing together leaders and allies from across the U.S. and Puerto Rico to explore how collaboration can expand digital opportunities for Latino families and workers. Conversations explored the opportunities and impacts of AI, digital equity, civil rights, and the digital needs of our communities, with an interactive AI experience led by Google. We officially kicked off the gathering with welcome remarks from Jesús García Valadez, Head of Cultural Communications at Google and Frankie Miranda, President & CEO of Hispanic Federation, followed by a HF Charla with Melonie Parker, Vice President for Employee Engagement at Google. Thank you to @Google for providing the space to make this gathering possible, and to all our speakers, partners, and allies who made the first day so meaningful. #HFEncuentroDigital #DigitalEquity #LatinoDigitalDivide #AI
Eileen’s story is a powerful reminder of what digital access, skills, and opportunity can make possible. Today, leaders and allies from across the U.S. and Puerto Rico will come together in San José for Hispanic Federation’s Encuentro Digital 2026. Throughout the Encuentro, participants will explore the future of AI, digital equity, and workforce development for Latino communities. Stories like Eileen’s are the kinds of stories that motivate us to build and expand our workforce development programs. For those who may not have a roadmap or someone to follow, programs like these can open doors, provide guidance, and help communities see what’s possible. Thank you to our partner organization, @OBTJOBS, for connecting jobseekers and community members to life changing opportunities. Thank you Otter house for developing this video and helping to share Eileen’s story. #EncuentroDigital #DigitalEquity #AIForGood

Remember, learn, and act: listen to directly impacted communities share the real toll that aggressive federal operations have taken on people in North Carolina. Last week, we gathered with partners from across North Carolina for the People’s Hearing on Immigration Enforcement in Charlotte. Throughout the day, more than 25 directly impacted individuals, business owners, and legal experts testified about what they heard, saw, and felt after federal agents targeted communities in North Carolina. Their testimony resurfaced the fear and trauma that continue to affect people and began the process of creating a record that preserves vital lived experiences. Last week’s hearing was the sixth People’s Hearing held so far. As with testimony from previous locations, the testimony in Charlotte will be turned into a People’s Record and presented to Congress so that our representatives understand why urgent action is needed to curtail aggressive federal operations that intimidate people and threaten communities.
💬 Know a small business that deserves some love? Share their name in the comments and help shine a spotlight on the businesses that keep our communities thriving.
Ideas, connections, and plenty of reasons to CRECER! Earlier this week, Hispanic Federation was in Hartford for CRECER: Connecticut Latino Business Expo, bringing together more than 300 entrepreneurs, elected officials, community leaders, and small businesses advocates for a day focused on connection, resources, and growth. Attendees explored methods for improving access to capital, policies impacting small businesses, and leadership strategies, while connecting with resources and new opportunities. Through La Marqueta, 20 Latino-owned businesses from across the state also showcased their products and services to potential customers. We are proud to support Latino entrepreneurs with programming and skill-building opportunities that help small business grow and thrive. This small business initiative is proudly supported by U.S. Senators @SenBlumenthal and Chris Murphy and funded in part through a grant with the U.S. Small Business Administration. Thank you as well to Mayor of Hartford, our panelists, community partners, entrepreneurs, and everyone who joined us in celebrating Connecticut’s Latino business community.
The People’s Hearing on Immigration Enforcement in Charlotte, moderated by USCCR Chair @RochelleMGarza, former USCCR Chair Marty Castro, and HF's Frankie Miranda, brought together community members, leaders, and experts to share powerful firsthand testimony on how federal immigration enforcement has impacted families, communities, and civil rights across North Carolina. Thank you to @TXCivilRights, @latinovictoryus, the Miranda Family Fund, and our local partners including Action NC, Carolina Migrant Network, Despierta, Latin American Coalition, ourBRIDGE for KIDS, Poder Latinx, and North Carolina Congress of Latino Organizations, for helping bring these voices forward. The hearing may be over, but these stories matter. Watch the recording at the link here hispanicfederation.org/NChearing.
The People’s Hearing on Immigration Enforcement: Charlotte will document how federal immigration enforcement impacted families, communities, and civil rights across NC. Tune in between 11:30 am and 5 pm ET to listen to the powerful testimony of people who experienced firsthand how the aggressive federal crackdown harmed their communities. Thank you, United States Commission on Civil Rights (USCCR) Chair @RochelleMGarza, as well as former USCCR Chairs Marty Castro, for moderating the panel discussions alongside Hispanic Federation President and CEO Frankie Miranda. Also, thank you to @TXCivilRights, @latinovictoryus, and the Miranda Family along with our local partners including @Action_NC, @CarolinaMigrant, Despierta, @LaCoalicionCLT , ourBRIDGE for KIDS, @PoderLatinx, and @congreso_latino. Tune in at hispanicfederation.org/NChearing to watch the testimonies.
This week, our President and CEO Frankie Miranda had the privilege of joining the American Mexican Leadership Council (AMLC) inaugural bipartisan delegation in Mexico City alongside with AMCL co-founder and Hispanic Federation board member, Ambassador @NathalieRayes, Co-Chair of the Mexican American Congressional Caucus Congressman @JoaquinCastrotx and Chair of the US Commission on Civil Rights @RochelleMGarza, among many other civic and business leaders. Highlights included a briefing at the U.S. Embassy, discussions on the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), as well as challenges and opportunities for economic cooperation and growth on both sides of the border. To conclude this visit, Frankie moderated a panel discussion on the significance of philanthropy and leadership in promoting cross-border collaboration. About 40 million people of Mexican heritage reside in the United States, contributing close to $2 trillion annually to the country’s economy. Mexico stands as the largest trading partner of the United States, with over $935 billion in annual trade supporting millions of American jobs. Earlier this year, AMLC played a pivotal role in the establishment of the first bipartisan U.S.-Mexico Congressional Caucus. This delegation continues to build upon its foundation. Hispanic Federation is a proud partner of AMLC and their mission to strengthening connections between the U.S and Mexico.

Yesterday, the Supreme Court handed the Administration a narrow, temporary win in its efforts to restrict mail-in ballot access – but here’s what happened: 🗳️ The Court ruled only on timing – finding states sued too soon. 🗳️ It did not rule on whether the new voting restrictions are legal. 🗳️ A separate injunction is still blocking those rules right now. 🗳️ New U.S. Postal Service developments may give states new grounds to sue. Mail-in voting is a safe, proven tool that expands access – especially for elderly voters and people with disabilities. Nearly two dozen states are pushing back, and so are we. “This ruling was reckless in the face of ongoing attacks on elections,” said Frankie Miranda, President and CEO of Hispanic Federation. “Hispanic Federation remains committed to connecting every eligible American voter to that most essential of freedoms: the right to vote.”
🌟 What a moment at #RaizadoFest! 🌟 Hispanic Federation’s Frankie Miranda had the privilege of speaking at #RaizadoFest's Icon Awards about HF’s work, including the Peoples Hearings that we facilitated across the country. Frankie also had the honor of presenting awards to two powerhouse Latinas: Chef Grace Ramirez and Lynette Marrero. 👏🏽👏🏽 Thank you to the visionary leadership of Monica Ramirez for making this event possible and bringing together so many inspiring leaders, including Rigoberta Menchú, Tonatiuh, Representative Castro, Nathalie Rayes, and many more. Moments like these remind us why representation, leadership, and community matter. Gracias por tanto. 🙌🏽
