The Call panel in the basement on most of the complex apartment Buildings has a button, Just press the Room number and dial. Press 4B and it rings the handset in 4B. On newer panels it rings an app on your phone instead. You pick up, you talk, and you press release.

There's a SIM card built into your car. Same little chip that's in your phone, soldered in at the factory, with its own number and its own data plan and it does require you signing up.

Ransomware encrypts the originals, sync dutifully uploads the scrambled versions, and the clean copies are overwritten. Pick the folder you'd be sickest to lose. Find where a separate, older copy of it lives, and restore a single file from it to see that it opens.

And that's the only reason it can save you. This is more important than it sounds. A ransomware locking every file on a small business's shared drive. The damage arrives at the "safe" copy as quickly as the good files do.

"it's in the cloud" feels like "it's safe". Yes, Sync keeps two places identical. Add a photo on your phone and it appears in the cloud. Delete one and it disappears from both. That's the whole point, and it's a good one, because it means your files follow you between devices.

Find the model name on the sticker, search it with "end of support", and read what the maker says. If the date's in the past, the fix is to buy a new one. THATS IT.
