Recently, we moved all our email services to AhaSend. So far, this has been the best experience with emailing I've ever had. And having that with European software makes it even more surprising as I always have problems with emails.

Is SaaS dying or not? I am running a SaaS company and at the same time I am replacing a lot of my own SaaS tools with custom applications. We are also doing quite a few projects for customers replacing their SaaS tools. It got me thinking. The Software part in SaaS is becoming cheap. The cost and effort of building the software you need, the way you want it, has gotten so low that in a lot of cases it just makes sense to create it yourself. Especially if you are able to easily do the DevOps work, or have someone who can do that for you. But then there is the Service part. For some pieces of software, the amount of service behind it just isn't easy to replace or do yourself. And I think those SaaS companies will not die. Those SaaS companies offer enough value based on their network, specific third-party integrations, infrastructure or economy of scale. These are things you are just not able to easily create yourself, or wouldn't even want to spend the effort on setting up yourself. So while I am busy replacing at least one SaaS tool a week for myself or a customer, I am also making sure that our own SaaS, CoreCubes, sticks to 0% churn and offers something companies would never want to set up themselves. Maybe SaaS isn't dying. The useless ones will just die faster.
It might take more time to replace SaaS applications with custom applications. But once you start using an application that's built for your process, it makes work so much easier.
Last weekend I replaced our support ticketing system and CRM with two custom apps. 2 days, migrations included. Runs in a private Kubernetes cluster. Nodge handled the entire DevOps process, Git, CI, deploys, monitoring. One platform is the future for all these internal apps.
