When we talk about careers, we often focus on grades and qualifications, but it's really the skills behind them that open doors. Robyn Tufnell graduated with a degree in Philosophy, Ethics and Religion, and today works as an FDM Consultant in our Change & Transformation Programme. Although her career isn't directly related to what she studied, she uses many of the skills she developed during her degree every day, including critical thinking, communication and problem-solving. AI investment is growing, but many organisations are still asking the same question: how do we get trusted, measurable value from it? In a controlled proof of concept with MISSION+, FDM Consultants worked as part of a shared squad to test AI-assisted software remediation. The team used AI to support technical debt reduction while maintaining engineer oversight, quality controls, and delivery standards. The result: ✅ 1196 code quality findings removed ✅ Repository rating improved from E to A ✅ Estimated remediation effort reduced from 14 days to around 12 hours FDM gives clients access to adaptable consultants who can join existing teams, understand the business context, and apply technical and AI skills to help address priority delivery challenges.

FDM Hong Kong recently collaborated with @HSBC to deliver an AI hackathon focused on specs-driven development, supported by AI specialist partner MISSION+. Within just five hours, FDM consultants and HSBC engineers built four working solutions addressing real financial services challenges, using clear specifications and agentic AI to move quickly from problem definition to practical outcomes. Last week, we hosted Elevate at our London centre for an evening exploring The New Shape of Delivery in the Age of Agents. Joining the panel were our Delivery Director, Bhaavna Popli, Nicole Ruszkowski (Markel International), Ria Tonking (Compare the Market), and Madhura C. (Elliptic), who discussed how delivery roles are evolving in an increasingly AI-enabled world.
