The masculine urge to form a Koryos with a bunch of random dudes that you met gaming.
The Normans are one of the most fascinating success stories of the Middle Ages. The adventurers who turned into kings. From Viking raiders into elite warriors employed by monarchs, including the Roman Emperor himself, for their deadly heavy cavalry, before transforming into master state-builders in South Italy, Outremer, and most importantly, England. There, following William I’s triumph at Hastings in 1066, the Normans laid the foundation for a future global superpower.
“One hour of life, filled to the brim with noble perils, is worth whole years in which men slink furtively through existence, much like stagnant water trickling slowly through a swamp, devoid of honor or regard.” — Walter Scott
Life was never meant to be a struggle. Reduce the tight grip you have on controlling the flow of it. Release the tension and destroy limiting beliefs that say it has to be any other way.
@GarrettPetersen Designing with AI is pretty straightforward. It just requires many iterations (whereas coding has become increasingly 'one-shotable').
@TWarPhilosopher I was this way in college and w/ roommates too. Have gone without for a year now. My sleep has never been as good as weighted blanket + open window in the winter and white noise. Fvck.
@GarrettPetersen Now we're getting somewhere.
I made a Draconia Malfoid Visual Novel. I used Vivix's new W1 model, which is unique for it's real-time interaction. No more static cut-outs of characters and still backgrounds. Vivix's W1 model costs $0.003 per second and is fully interactive, shattering the cost barrier while being high quality and real-time. Vivix W1 is also different. It's not a simple clip model, its beta API offers something unique - it lets you modify the video on the fly, a real-time interactive video model. Most AI video is prompt in, clip out, then repeat. Every prompt a break or cut in the video. Vivix W1 is continuous, creating a seamless video experience. That means you can have an LLM handle the conversation, and stream the new chat and emotions and scenes as signals into the API to direct the character's video in real-time, without pauses. You can take characters anywhere in the world, any setting. That's kinda nuts. Vivix reached out to see if I was interested, so I put together a quick AI Visual Novel system with their API. The prototype video is impressive at this speed. The W1 model is directable in real-time. The responses, outfit changes and the dances are all live. The W1 seamless responsiveness is something no clip generator offers. At just about 10 bucks/hour of video, gaming applications are within reach. I do wish the audio was better, it tends to have drop-outs, and it currently doesn't do seamless scene transitions. But the model is in full scale training now, and I hope to have characters moving from location to location with the player. The site is clip-only for now, real-time is the beta API, browser interaction is later. This is the part I am most interested in. You can check it out at: platform.vivix.ai/vivix-w1-model… *Sponsored by @VivixLabs_HQ
@DisgracedProp You do understand that real Americans are from the pink zones, right?
@lysandergr8 @VittelMax Tens of millions of Chinese citizens lead affluent lives of a higher standard than the West while constantly traveling and expanding business into foreign countries. You have a very close-minded view without considering the implications.
It's okay to admit that fashion peaked with the toga.
@lysandergr8 @VittelMax Attacking them would just further divides between what are already parallel systems. We benefit more by nationally aligning with China, as we navigate the modern economic and internal political situation.
@VittelMax China is our #1 Ally. I'm sure they would station troops at the Southern Border if Trump strengthened our friendship. What more could you ask of an allied nation?
We don't think about slavery enough. It existed for most of human history, and you think that it disappeared overnight after a couple of proclamations?
I actually love indie game development so much. Everything is piece-by-piece. You figure out novel solutions to tried and true methods in order to achieve success. You have dozens of skills that are developing simultaneously and always unlocking each other. It's a very fun and creative way to live once you master the routine and grind.
@bringfiregames It's always the best of times, actually. But as long as you love it.
