Carrying a firearm while over 0.04% BAC is only a misdemeanor. Definitely not a wise choice regardless. It doesn't appear that he was breathalyzed on scene, nor was a search warrant issued for blood or urine, so his BAC at the time is unknown. Polite compliance during traffic stops can sometimes get officers to lighten up a bit, whether or not one is a politician.

A friendly reminder that @mallofamerica does not allow patrons to bring firearms. Also, patrons can ignore that stupid rule and bring lawfully carried firearms into the mall anyway. It is not a crime to do this. I recommend carrying concealed, because mall Security or @BPD_MN officers on foot patrol there will trespass anyone seen with a firearm. When the madman or terrorist attacks, YOU will be the only one there who can save you. Be prepared and be alert.
