5/ Before asking “How high is the APY?”, ask: • Who is paying it? • Why are they paying it? • How long can it continue? • How quickly can I exit? Yield is a number. Its source is the product.
4/ Structured strategies Basis trading, leverage and restaking can create additional return. They can also introduce multiple layers of market, liquidation, counterparty and integration risk.

It’s been quiet here—but we haven’t stopped thinking about DeFi. Instead of pretending we have a big announcement, we want to reopen the conversation: What still feels broken about onchain yield and liquidity products today? Complexity? Risk visibility? Fragmented opportunities? Something else? We’re listening.
The Fed raised rates by 25 bps. That raises the bar for onchain yield. A higher APY isn’t enough. If a strategy adds smart contract, liquidity or counterparty risk, users should see exactly what they’re being paid for. Transparency is part of the return. Which risk is still hardest to evaluate?
Markets are waiting on the Fed. Onchain yields may reprice after the decision. The risks won’t disappear with them. When evaluating a yield opportunity, what do you look at first?
