Interesting thread.
There exists some confusion regarding the communization milieu and its constituents. Allow me to explain. ↙️ While the term 'communization' has some precedent in early, Utopian socialist circles, it was first used in its modern sense by French Marxist Gilles Dauvé in the 70s.
Good thread and imo well buttressed by also reading Karl Nesic's "why I am not losing hope" libcom.org/article/what-n…
As many people are receiving their reprint copies of Endnotes, and the milieu faces a resurgence in online discussions, many are wondering what exactly communization is. This thread breaks it down for you!

𝗪𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗙𝗲𝘄 from @endnotesjournal Volume 5. “This is a text about the we. Who do we think we are? How do we understand what we are doing? Naturally, we do not mean only the “we” that produces this journal but a wider we whose boundary remains unspecified.”
How are things made? Who knows how to make them? How is this knowledge distributed? @DFManufracture demystifies the riddle of technical knowledge and its relevance to communist construction in "The Black Box of Production," available on our website now ahead of Issue 3 (link 👇)
Shoutout to friend of the project @DFManufracture !
𝐍𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐳 — The Black Box of Production, in @heatwvmag Issue 3. “To place humanity’s destiny back in our own hands, the process of communist construction will require grappling with capital’s literal encrustation on the planet’s surface.”
"17 Theses on Communism" by B.L. of TC. Republished by @endnotesjournal on the event of B.L.'s passing several years ago. One of the strangest, most provocative, and brilliant texts of the communization tendency. "After the communist revolution there is no more society.
@Communization_ This reflection last year felt helpful and expansive: illwill.com/los-angeles
(Not on Der Stührmer Online™️ though; never post about fun times on here).
This is an open call for all of us to formulate our own experiences, lest they be formulated for us. If you have battled ICE, gotten your head busted by cop at Columbia, bathed in the flame in Los Angeles or Minneapolis, we need you to reflect, so you will be ready to act!
I am a university student (& a worker). I see, in my own daily operations, the function of universities as institutions of corporate power & state repression, and the transformation of human knowledge into pure capital flows. Against this, we pose a different conception.
The Occupy movement led to university sit-ins, occupations, and encampments. Much has been written on the topic, and one could say we are now in the post-post-Occupy era. Now that we are freed from the shackles of imminent failure, what lessons can we learn?
