Domestic abuse incidents in the U.K. reached a record high during the 2026 World Cup, with around 300 reported on the night of the England vs Norway game alone. Chief Constable Mark Roberts, the Football Policing National Lead, said the tournament and associated alcohol consumption had contributed to an overall increase in reported incidents.
