It’s clear to me now that the problem of AI coding is exactly the same problem we’ve always faced with building software What is the source of truth? The spec? The tests? The code? Quite often you can focus heavily on the spec but the code drifts and the spec is wrong anyway

@DarthPedro99 And this is what I’ve always witnessed in the software industry no matter how you slice it You can call the code the source of truth, and that’s essentially where “agile” lands, but that’s just a way of saying there is no source of truth because it’s always in flux…

@SEGVeenstra That’s literally what successful software developers always did, well before AI In a sense, AI lets you skip the gruelling hard work of just setting up pipelines and test fixtures etc so it mostly feels like running a successful software company The difference is zero income
