Every single thing in this article has been stated on Chatterbox Reds. “Anonymity” sources have shared things with a daily baseball podcast. Now that others have stated the “anonymity” as if it’s fact - let’s rip the bandaid off. Full thoughts on pod tonight but here’s the situation. 1. Phil was open to being like the Brewers, and Reds operated that way for a few years when Phil was in charge. Then Phil made some comments that caused “Dad” to get back involved. Worst thing to happen. 2. It’s pretty obvious when this occurred. Look at the pickups, trades. They extended a manager, and suddenly fired him when another “HOF” became available. 3. Despite Krall and Co being hamstrung - there’s still major issues organizationally. According to reputable sources - the Reds are… - The only MLB team who does not have offseason individual pitching development plans. - “This is the first time in my MLB career I’ve not had a trade deadline assignment” - “I actually had to call and double check to make sure I didn’t miss my assignment” - Krall and Co were “being mocked by multiple GM” at the deadline for how out of touch they were with the market for their assets. I know it’s impossible for some to think this way - BUT. If you’re superior is telling you exactly how to do your job, and they are wrong and making a mockery of you- at some point you grow a pair- and stand up for yourself OR leave.

I’m not going to apologize for saying Elly De La Cruz is one of the best players in the entire world. If the “expectations” for casuals is too high because he’s hyped up too much - so be it. He’s a stud. If you can’t see that- then you just don’t know ball man.

Yet Cubs fans on the road vs Reds & Brewers do this every series and nothing is said. Passan and co looks at "small markets" like the selection committee looks at mid majors. We're cute but unserious. Yet, the NFL has national brands in Kansas City, and Green Bay. Wonder why.

Lastly. CES could be a flash in the pan- but he could be the guy the fanbase and org was hoping for a few years ago. I’m simply stating - you don’t get to let a guy leave as the worst offense in baseball, and watch him outperform your whole team - and keep job losing 90 games.

CES Either 1. Never got fair opportunity, Reds worried about the wrong things - FO is horrible at evaluation. 2. The development is horrendous - sports psych, nutrition, coaching lacks 3. Both. College Football would have fired 3 guys by now. Not the “Run it Back Reds ™️”

I would do damn near anything to be 12 years old in 1975. To be a Dad with teenage boys in 90. Marty & Joe, Big Red Machine, Larkin and Davis. A vibe in the city. It’s so distant it feels like reading about the American Revolution. It’s a bit deep and sad if you think on it.

Maybe the Reds know something I don’t. Sal Stewart not being able to play the field seems NOT true. The guy has looked more than capable at 3B, and 2B. Imagine stuffing him at 1B when he’s capable of playing 3B or 2B at a league average level.

I can’t believe there wasn’t any interest in a player like Tyler Stephenson. 5 other catchers were moved - but no one wanted Stephenson. Incredible. Seems like a decent player.
