Switching between threads in Amp is now a lot faster on Safari & our macOS/iOS apps Using @buildkite preflights (buildkite.com/docs/platform/…) on a macOS runner against the orb's tunneled dev server, opening Safari and collecting a web perf profile. Found lots of CSS/layout speedups.

Today, the world changed. @Cursor Origin is live. Built by Cursor. Built on Buildkite CI. Devs finally have a challenger to GitHub code hosting, and we are one of three launch partners. Plus, our OSS GitHub Actions plugin is in public preview to run zero rewrite workflows. Test it through our expanded free plan, available to experience the research preview of Origin.
Been fantastic to work deeply with the @cursor_ai team this year as their CI of choice while Origin was built, tested and shipped 🚀
Earlier this year we migrated CI to @buildkite. Gone are the flakey network blips, slow CI start times, fragile pipeline definitions. @lox and the team have been there to support our migration and now the Origin launch. Check out the GHA compatibility! x.com/lox/status/208…

We think we can move off GitHub. We are (made up number) 80% of the way there with Orbs + Amp Git as they are excellent at agent-driven development, parallel unsupervised work, and reducing friction around checkouts/worktrees (arguably not required anymore). Biggest outstanding blockers are a robust and native (or tightly integrated) CI/CD system, formal structured review/merge workflows (arguably not as critical), issue tracking, and (MAYBE) mature enterprise/OSS capabilities. Keeping an external CI system isn't hard (we are using Buildkite) and maintaining your own lightweight issue tracker (is also very doable). What else is needed? Who else thinks they can do this?
If the code matters less, what about the code host? What about that warm fuzzy connected feeling we all got from GitHub until a couple years ago? We can bring it back. Step 1: Amp can now host your Git repositories ampcode.com/projects
