A modern "transputer" style machine built from rp2350's seems like it could be fun! 4x4 mesh, PIO for neighbor links (or maybe a small fpga switch). Message passing, distributed sdram and ownership tags Could be a fun little machine! Surprising amount of horsepower too

@ScourgeOfZeus Haha yeah, it was probably too ambitious! And I got saved by a lucky re-spin from the fab (they needed something on the wafer changed, which let me implement a critical bug fix). Otherwise a lot of important instructions would have been broken 2nd video soon! Still working on it

Man KLayout is so laggy. Suuuuper tempted to vibecode a tiled viewer that can zoom in/out seamlessly. Shouldn't be terribly hard if it's just for viewing I think 🤔

@OptoLia Ooh that's a neat custom application! And agreed, KLayout is great otherwise! I still haven't gotten around to learning Magic, but suspect I'd still prefer KLayout. The scripting and DRC functionality is really handy too

@serz41844789 Rust, display with eGUI + OpenGL. Uses tiny-skia to rasterize geometry into per-layer, multiresolution tiles. Saved as png, loaded as GPU textures. R-tree spatial index for selecting/highlighting geometry.
