.@AsmRepublicans affordability plan: Do nothing as Trump guts healthcare for corporate tax breaks. Our plan: Fight back, protect Medi-Cal, keep food on the table, invest in housing, lower taxes for small businesses & ensure billionaire corporations can't zero out their tax bill.

This is how @AssemblyDems make California "more affordable." Tax software, tax health plans & raise billions in new revenue for a state government that already spends $355 billion a year.

Reminder to those who come after California’s people: to get to them, you must get through us. And you WILL be held responsible for your cruelty. Assembly Democrats will always stand with immigrants.

Assembly Democrats begin the day by standing up to Trump’s lawless ICE mercenaries who have terrorized Californians for months. We oppose any attempt by Trump to dehumanize those in search of the American Dream, and we honor immigrant contributions to our California way of life.

Unlike Trump's America, voting rights matter in California. Assembly Democrats stand with all marginalized voices risking everything for the right to have their voice heard.

I urge all LA residents to heed evacuation orders and follow the directions of emergency officials. Protect your family and loved ones, do what is advised. Firefighters and first responders are battling the dangerous and unpredictable #PalisadesFire #EatonFire, and California will be there to support evacuation and recovery efforts. Stay safe, remain vigilant, be prepared.

Today it was a great honor to be elected by my colleagues to serve another term as Speaker of the California Assembly. Our task this session is urgent and clear: We must chart a new path forward and renew the California Dream by focusing on affordability. California will always be a place of opportunity. But that opportunity must shine equally for everyone in every corner of this great state. Over the next two years, we must do everything in our power — collectively — to renew the California Dream. Millions of Californians have put their faith in us. Let’s get it done. Let’s get to work.

.@POTUS has my deepest gratitude for his selfless leadership and the incredible progress he’s made for America. We are forever indebted to him for beating @realDonaldTrump in 2020, and for laying the foundation to beat him again in 2024. Thank you, Mr. President.

The Assembly fought hard to protect the public services that matter most to Californians, and we are delivering a budget that prioritizes affordability and long-term stability. 🧵

Residents have spoken loud and clear: They want to feel safe. We are saying enough is enough on organized retail theft. Now that the Assembly has taken action, I expect the Senate to move quickly and send these bills to the Governor for signature.
