@gonz0904 @Logo_Daedalus While the societal culture in the U.S. and some other western nations are individualistic. This is clearly documented in sociology along with many immigrant experiences whom visited or lived in the west or vice versa. It’s not a controversial topic. It is a well known fact.

@gonz0904 @Logo_Daedalus Actually, the concepts of the east and the west is sociological. The cultures in the countries residing in the Middle East and Asia, are culturally different than the western countries particularly the U.S. Sociologically, these countries have societies that are collectivistic.

@Logo_Daedalus I still see instances of sociableness and hospitality as well as acts of altruism in the U.S. depending on the social context and regions. People really want to have a sense of belonging and community and to feel they are contributing to it. I think that is a human need.

@Logo_Daedalus In the west particularly in the U.S. it is a bit of a narcissistic and competitive culture and individualistic needs are valued. I don’t think it was always like this. It would be interesting to see what changed society in the U.S. attributing to this kind of culture.
