"The Europeans are a foreign minority group, which has exclusive control of political, economic, social and military power. It is the dominant group. It is the exploiting group, responsible for the pernicious doctrine of White Supremacy…"- Mangaliso Robert Sobukwe

“I believe unconditionally in the ability of people to respond when they are told the truth. We need to be taught to study rather than believe, to inquire rather than to affirm.” Septima Poinsette Clark (1898-1987).

In 1952, a 27-year-old psychiatrist from Martinique published a book arguing that colonialism wasn't just a political system, it was a documented form of collective mental injury, and he had the clinical training to prove it. Frantz Fanon trained as a psychiatrist in France before working in colonial Algeria, and Black Skin, White Masks was his first major work, written while he was still finishing his residency. In it, he argued that colonized Black people are pushed to internalize whiteness as the standard of worth, then measured permanently against a standard they're never allowed to fully reach, producing real psychological damage he treated directly in his own patients. He wasn't writing as an outside observer theorizing about race. He was a clinician diagnosing a condition he watched colonialism actually produce in people. The book became foundational to postcolonial theory and influenced the thinking of civil rights leaders well beyond Africa and the Caribbean. More than 70 years later, people are still assigning it in university courses because the psychological pattern Fanon described never fully went away, it just changed its packaging.

Dr. Umar Johnson tells Nick Cannon that the system creates a dysfunctional black community of adults that have no loyalty to it, he specifically mentions religion as a big reason for that. “We are so stuck on religion… that our primary loyalty is to religion, before it is to our race. Nobody else puts religion above race except negroes, and that’s why we last.” (🎥 Nick Cannon/Cannon’s Class TV/Youtube) x.com/VideoEliteJuke…

🔸Let’s just be clear: mufi was a private citizen and not a national leader or figure. He did not occupy any public, state or official role whatsoever, not even that of a ward councillor. The line between national or state business and private business must always be clear. It’s perfectly fine to mourn your beloved friend and show your sadness in a difficult moment for you and your loved ones. Most will respect your right to do so. What you cannot do is rope the entire nation in as if we were part and parcel of the business he was engaged in. We were not. We cannot start to be now. We need new leaders.🇿🇼

Chivayo in ‘ruins’: The anatomy of judgment - vicious and absolute The unrestrained violence inflicted on Wicknell (Chivayo) at the time of his death was not ordinary. It was brutal, deliberate and devastating. Imagine, he will now be buried without his head as if the fact that his body parts were gathered into garbage bags weren’t gruesome enough. To me, the violence carried the terrible hallmarks of judgment; vicious and absolute. I do not know whose judgment it was. I have my suspicions, but they are ultimately worth very little in the absence of evidence to confirm them. What it speaks to, however, is unmistakable: one may act with impunity, protected by the power and favour of mortals, but no one escapes accountability forever. Every human being must eventually answer for what they have done. It is not difficult — at least not for me — to understand why Wicknell, otherwise a likeable figure before his vulgar shenanigans with ZANU PF for which he has been pilloried as public enemy number 1, was ultimately called to account. The lesson is clear: whatever power one acquires, one must never trample upon the aspirations of the poor or mock the suffering of the vulnerable. Their pain is not a spectacle, and their dignity is not yours to diminish. Neither should one pretend that there is no day-light between them and God. The tragedy, therefore, is not merely the horror of his dismemberment, nor the grim end to which his actions may have contributed. The deeper tragedy is that some people still refuse to see the lesson. Instead, they would rather emotionally blackmail us all, insisting that we suppress our views and deny the sense of closure most feel at what they regard as a deserved end. The public tumult acknowledges the consequences of a life lived in blasphemy, with pride and impunity and must be understood as such. It reiterates that power does not erase accountability, and that contempt for the poor and the powerless always carries a cost. In the tumult is the expression of both an expectation and a hope carried in the rhetorical question, So who’s next? Yes, the public yearns for similar judgment on the next obnoxious figure. Don’t be that person.

African people can be organised only under the banner of African nationalism in an All-African Organisation where they will by themselves formulate policies and programmes and decide on the methods of struggle without interference from either so-called left-wing or right-wing groups of the minorities who arrogantly appropriate to themselves the right to plan and think for the Africans. -Robert Sobukwe

When someone asks, “How you doing?” I may let out a soft smile and say, “Living life,” or “Just doing me.” But what I really mean is I am walking through a season where life has weight. Bills whisper my name from the table, debt sits like stones in my pocket, and tomorrow keeps making sure that I have a plan. I’m raising children while still raising parts of myself. I am tending a marriage like a garden that needs sun, water, truth, and gentle hands. I am caring for my elderly mom, holding her years with reverence, learning that love sometimes looks like patience, sacrifice, and showing up tired. I am reaching for God in the middle of the noise, trying to mint something holy out of ordinary days a stronger faith, a softer heart, a steadier spirit. I am rebuilding my home and, in some quiet way, being rebuilt with it. So when I say, “I’m living life,” just know that there’s an ocean inside that answer. There is worry and worship, pressure and purpose, fatigue and faith, love that stretches me, and hope that flickers. Life’s so thick
