ICE officers across the country were instructed this weekend to cease arrests of non-criminal immigrants, according to agency sources. - Daily Wire Federal immigration agents may only arrest immigrants who are in the country illegally and have criminal convictions or pending criminal charges, the sources said. Those with final deportation orders but no criminal convictions or charges reportedly will not be arrested. The change also reportedly ends so-called “collateral arrests,” meaning officers who encounter other people alongside a criminal target may detain only the target, according to the sources.
All this tells me is that they have no intention of prioritizing the 18,000 known Islamist terrorists on U.S. soil here illegally. Membership in a foreign terrorist organization is a crime. We do not have to sit around and wait for someone to carry out an attack before taking action. The threat is already known. Yes, it’s a massive task. Yes, it’s hard. And yes, we were set up for failure by them being allowed in. But when the safety of American communities and families is on the line, you move heaven and earth to get the job done. If someone doesn’t have the spine to carry out a tough job, remove them and put someone in the seat who does. This isn’t the Mickey Mouse Club. People’s lives are at stake. Act like it!
